Kovalam Luxury Beaches

It is located about 16 kms away from Trivandrum which takes 20 min drive to reach the place. Kovalam has three beautiful beaches where the tidal waves are low and the waters are very deep. Due to this reason, westerners love to come here during their vacations. The three beaches namely are: Light house beach that is the most famous one of the three and loved by outsiders who come and stay there in resorts, Lodge etc to experience the beauty. The next one is the Crescent or Samudra beach located on the North of Kovalam. The third beach is called the Hawa beach. Each one has its own speciality. Light house beach shines marvellously in dark that one cannot take off the eyes from seeing it. Samudra Beach is best suited for the lovers of Nature as the serene vicinity takes you on top of the World and makes you forget anything and everything and you are out there away from all the stress of your life. Hawa Beach is meant for fishing and you can see a lot of fishermen at work. It was once very famous for sunbathing and it has been banned now.

Kovalam became a highlight when Queen Sethu Lakshmi of Travancore decided to build a palace for herself close to the beach. Later it was recognised as a potential tourist spot by Prince G.V. Raja.
