Agra Fort:
One of the mightiest forts outside the Rajputana, Agra Fort has captured a unique combination of indomitable strength and exquisite splendor, with which it is the most popular destination of Agra tour after the Taj. Built in 1565 by Emperor Akbar primarily for defensive purposes, Agra Fort soon grew in size and magnificence to become almost a city within a city. Some of the main features of the Agra fort are the Diwan-e-Aam or the Hall of Public audience, built by Emperor Shah Jahan. Close to this is the exquisite Diwan-e-Khaas or the hall of private audience, where important dignitaries & foreign ambassadors were received.

Fatehpur Sikri:
Fatehpur Sikri is one of India's most marvelous archeological finds, an entire city almost perfectly preserved as it was. Made the capital of the Mughal Empire by Akbar The Great in 1571, it was abandoned in merely two decades. However it still retains the era of Mughal majesty at the zenith of its power. It has the famous Dargah mosque is said to be a replica of the one at Mecca while the tomb of Salim Chisti is still a center of Sufism. Other edifices such as the palace of Jodha Bai, Birbal Bhavan, Panch Mahal or the treasury, all betray the unique blend of Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Muslim & Christian style, a repertoire of Akbar's enlightened reign.
